United Methodist Connection

Central United Methodist Church is part of the global United Methodist denomination.  The structure of our denomination encourages close ties between churches, pastors and lay people.  United Methodists follow the Book of Discipline as a common guide for ministry that embraces a broad spectrum of theological viewpoints.  Together, United Methodists strive to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to put our discipleship into action in transforming our communities and the world.

Annual Conference:
The denomination is broken down into regional bodies called Annual Conferences.  These are led by the Bishop and the Bishop’s cabinet that includes the District Superintendents and other important advisers.  The Annual Conference provides administrative help to churches, shares communications and curriculum resources, coordinates volunteer efforts, equips pastors and lay people for doing ministry in a diverse and dynamic world, and plants new churches. Our Annual Conference covers Washington State and the pan handle of Idaho.

Reconciling Ministries Network
Central United Methodist Church is a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network.  This network is a group of United Methodist Churches that have made a commitment to being fully inclusive of all of God’s children, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.  The Reconciling Ministries Network strives to transform the world by living out the Gospel’s teachings of grace, love, justice and inclusion for all of God’s children.

  • Reconciling Ministries Network – The main website of the Network.  The site also provides a great way to search for other United Methodist ministries that have made this commitment, which might be helpful if traveling, moving, or helping a loved one find an inclusive church near them.
  • Pacific Northwest Reconciling Ministries – The website for our Annual Conference’s association.
